What a culture shock. My first work assignment for the fall was suppose to be in MN, but I was shipped out to Sullivan, IN. I am overwhelmed with how big the cornfields are here and amazed how individuals can live in the middle no where. I have a 45 minute drive to work. The best thing is that I am staying in Terre Haute which is a busy big University town.
I went to a bar last night. I was the only girl in the bar. There was about 30 men in the bar and between all of them they had about 7 full sets of teef. There were people in the parking lot of the bar with their cars jacked up with cinder blocks working underneath them like it was an auto shop. The bartender had a cowboy hat on that look like a bucket. Apparently they have bands there on some nights because in the corner of the bar there was a poorly erected stage that looked like it could not hold a full set of drums without falling down.
I ate lunch at a general store. I am not happy about it cause it was so gross inside the store I was afraid of the food. Of course, they had a small kitchen with served hot plates and you could get a huge helping of corn! Which I did have and it was good.
Its also hot as balls here!
Oh and I finally tried to get back to working out by doing 20 minutes of my yoga tape. My muscles are tight and I feel very unhealthy. I still need to stop the drinking. Wish me luck.
